TATS CRU is a NYC based crew of professional muralists, who's work in aerosol, has changed the perception of graffiti art. Two decades ago three teenagers began as subway graffiti artists. How they expressed themselves for recognition evolved them into dynamic muralists. TATS CRU stands for Top Artistic Talent and has captured the the fine art aerosol to change people's perception of graffiti art. TAT membership has included NICER, BIO, KEN, CEM, SHAME, BG183, RAZ, WISE, MAZE, LASE and others. With proof of their success and the acceptance of graffiti as an art form TATS CRU has managed to paint works for the Smithsonian's Institute 35th Annual Folk life Festival. TATS CRU's work now covers several NYC schools and hospitals. In addition to their success TATS CRU also has lectured at Hunter College, M.I.T., University of Massachusetts, Cortland University, Brooks school and several other community based organizations.
Artist Statement
TATS CRU employs graffiti mural art as a commercially viable art form and markets customized aerosol art to businesses, corporations and individual consumers in major metropolitan areas throughout the world. TATS CRU furnishes advertising and design services to businesses reaching out to young urban consumers and companies seeking new and innovative ways to promote their services and products.
